Real Life laziness, or, is it?

I used to disagree when someone says, "Oh, how well 'Everybody Loves Raymond' connects to real life!!". Well, there are so many things I am critical about, but I realised that I was wrong about this when...

...today, I was watching an episode where Debra and Raymond come home after a vacation, leave their suitcase on the stairs for over 3 weeks and it is just sitting there waiting for one of them to remove it, and neither does. When either want to take clothes from inside, they just take it from the suitcase, with no plans of even moving it aside.

I was just too surprised (or shocked?). OMG!!!Did they know? Just about 10 days back, while watching something on the TV, I asked Sai to bring the clothes from the dryer. He did, placed the basket on the widest stair, and joined me to watch the program. (Well!!! No one is in a mood to carry a load of clothes at midnight, not the least, take it upstairs)

We just commented, "Yes, it is going to sit here for the next 2 weeks" and continued with the show.

When we reach home, a jacket would be thrown in the basket.
Sai left to Texas 3 days back, and some clothes were taken out from it.
I used a towel or two (from you know where), the basket was there.
A wash cloth came out, but the basket was still there...
And today, I watch the episode, and the basket is still sitting there, in front of me, on the stairs.

Did we (or, I) get so much used to things lying around, or is it sheer laziness, or did we not have time? It did not bother us at all. It never striked me that it was not supposed to be there, and that the contents needed to reach their respective shelves.

Ok, Ok.
I am going to pick up Sai from the airport in a few hours, let me better get this basket and folding done before we live the episode ;)
